The concept of Tutti

Previous topic This is the last topic

This comes from music -- and its use of Italian as the lingua franca. Tutti means "all", as in "tutti frutti" (all of the fruits -- typically a good ice cream flavor). A tutti section in music is when all performers are contributing at once. In a symphony orchestra or a wind band, this can make reference to all of the instrumentalists performing at once -- often a raucous, loud affair with drums sounding and trumpets trumpeting, etc.

This is a factor -- a challenge in the case of an organization. Even more so, it reflects opportunities for all participants in a network of suppliers or providers. Operating "tutti", all such providers would work together to achieve a desired outcome -- considering all issues of the head, the hand, and the heart.

This, of course, is the object of the Methods-Based Management seminars. From a logical standpoint, we wish to demonstrate how a common language for processes can benefit your organization, using concrete examples. Our objective is to demonstrate these advantages in light of similar benefits enjoyed in the realm of music with regard to form and structure.

From an engineering standpoint, we wish to show how technology can be used to provide a limitless forum for managing logical complexities in your organization similar to the composer/conductor/performer/listener cycle found in music.

Using the culture of music as an example, we wish to emphasize that similar harmony is possible in everyday organizations. The result can be emotionally fulfilling for recipients as well as providers of products and services in your world. By eliminating barriers and enhancing collaborative opportunities, you can cement your competitive strengths in the hearts and minds of your clients and customers by eliminating the negative and emphasizing the positive.
